Pastoral Care Defined

Pastoral Care by definition is the broad, inclusive ministry of mutual healing and growth within a congregation and its community throughout the life cycle.  It is the arm of the church that touches its members who are transitioning through life crises such as sickness, feelings of hopelessness and despair, job loss, marital issues, death, or a need to find meaning in their lives and relationships.  The Pastoral Care Department provides the following services to its members:

  • Counseling Services
  • Premarital Counseling
  • Oversight of Benevolence Program
  • Visitation of Members with Health Issues, Illness, or Hospitalization
  • Serving Holy Communion to the Shut-In on First Sundays
  • Baby Dedications
  • Assisting with Funeral Arrangements for Family Members
